Thomas Wallisch & Oli Bott
(Germany)
co-cponsored by The Max Mueller Bhavan, Kolkata
THOMAS WALLISCH & Oli Bott: Their co-operation
started in 1996 while both were at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. They play like what they are - and
it's groovin'.
"Their outstanding interplay makes the music a meditative listening experience of special quality." Akustik
Gitarre
"Vibraphone and guitar throw musical ideas like game balls to each other, quote and encourage the other. Their
music is - instead of showing off with muscles of improvisation – is more quiet and eye-blinking inspired by Gary
Burton, Pat Metheny or Bill Frisell. But still they are both original and follow old virtues and groove with impressive
melodies." Die Welt, Germany
"Oli Bott and Thomas Wallisch prove with their CD "Unknown Beauty" that it is possible to create
a hard groove with supposedly soft instruments." Musicoutlook
